Manchester air quality laboratory gets £500k upgrade

Marchwood’s Manchester air quality laboratory has benefitted from a £500,000 upgrade.

The site was recently acquired by Cawood Scientific, the refurbishment has included significant new technology within the laboratory including:

  • Multiple Thermal Desorption GC-MS (TD GC-MS)
  • Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer (GCMS QQQ)
  • LCMS
  • GCMS Headspace
  • Multiple GC-MS
  • Ion Chromatography (IC)
  • High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
  • Carbon Analyser

These are all operational and ready for samples. The equipment is also backed up by analytical instrumentation situated at the other Marchwood sites.

‘We were delighted to acquire the Marchwood business in March and immediately backed the business with additional personnel and the latest technology and equipment,’ said Cawood Scientific managing director, Simon Parrington.

‘We want to be able to not just maintain the current levels of service but to enhance and improve on the offerings to our customers, the latest investments in Marchwood will keep us on track to achieving this.’

Marchwood Scientific’s commercial director, Steve Cox added: ‘Ensuring customers receive the best possible service is our top priority, the investment in additional equipment and staff demonstrates our future intentions in maintaining and building on the reputation we are known for and proud of.’
