ClimateCare appoints new director

ClimateCare, the organisation dedicated to tackling climate change and improving lives, has appointed Rachael Nutter as a new director.

With 15 years’ experience of helping organisations in the transition to a sustainable, net-zero economy, Ms Nutter joins ClimateCare as director of Nature Based Solutions.

She has broad experience across markets, low carbon technologies and business models and an in-depth knowledge of Nature Based Solutions.

Her most recent role focused on finding new models for investing in nature Based projects to deliver high-integrity carbon credits.

In her new leadership role at ClimateCare, Ms Nutter (pictured) will bolster the already active nature-based solutions team and will focus on developing projects in the UK and internationally to generate robust carbon reductions and removals for ClimateCare’s clients.

‘I am delighted to join the highly experienced and passionate team at ClimateCare at this exciting stage in its development,’ said Ms Nutter.

‘Our clients, from companies to governments, are increasingly looking to Nature Based Solutions as a valuable part of taking full responsibility for their climate impacts.

‘My focus will be on the integrity of projects — they must be robust, not only in the carbon delivery, but also have positive impacts on wider biodiversity and the local environment and communities. This will help us to avoid the worst impacts of climate change and allow us to become a net remover of carbon.”

This new appointment, and expansion of the nature-based solutions proposition, is part of broader growth plans for ClimateCare.

It comes at a pivotal time for turning net-zero pledges into real action and following investment secured to accelerate growth earlier this year.

Vaughan Lindsay, CEO at ClimateCare added: ‘We are extremely pleased to welcome Rachael to the team. She comes at such an integral time, not only for us at ClimateCare, but also as the world steps up a gear in its fight to tackle climate change. This is one of a number of planned new appointments as we accelerate our growth, increase our project portfolios and escalate our clients’ impact globally.’
