250 electric vehicle charge points coming to 120 DWP sites

Mitie has been awarded a contract worth £4.3m to transform parking options at Job Centres across the UK, helping the Department for Work & Pensions deliver on wider net zero ambitions. 

The deal will see the company design, install, and maintain EO electric vehicle (EV) charging points at the sites, further cementing its relationship with the Department for Work & Pensions (DWP), which has already seen close collaboration on sustainability, waste management, biodiversity, decarbonisation and solar power. 

This is the second large-scale EV infrastructure project Mitie has been given by the public sector, having previously taken charge of £4.5m worth of installation and maintenance work for the Environment Agency. The firm has also already rolled out more than 2,000 charging points at staff homes and various private sector locations.
