Octopus Electroverse simplifies EV charging across Europe

Octopus Electroverse is now Europe’s largest consumer EV charging platform, allowing users access to 850,000 connected charge-points, operated by 950 different companies, across 40 countries.

Launched to address the problem of EV drivers having to build up a collection of charging apps on their phone, Electroverse is integrated with brands such as InstaVolt, Osprey, IONITY, MFG, ChargePlace Scotland, as well as Aral pulse, TotalEnergies, Powerdot and Free To X.

The app, which is available in 20 languages, allows access to around 80% of the public chargers on Europe’s network, at the touch of a screen.

The popularity of the platform is such that the number of drivers using it has increased by over 180% over the last 12 months.

Users will regularly benefit from a variety of savings such as ‘Plunge Pricing’, the most recent iteration of which offers a 20% discount on select charging networks for EV drivers who opt to charge between 9:30 and 16:30.  A different day may see a different discount and a different time window in which to benefit from the offer. Networks involved in the promotion include Shell Recharge, IONITY, Raw Charging, Osprey, Blink  and GeniePoint.

In another offer, all Electroverse EV drivers in Spain can benefit from a 15% discount on charging when using Iberdrola | bp pulse, up until the end of August.

Zoisa North-Bond of Octopus Electroverse, said: ‘We created Electroverse with a clear mission: to make charging electric cars on-the-go as easy as possible. One card and one app – that’s all drivers need to access nearly 850,000 chargers.

‘Our customers love the slick experience and features we’ve rolled out over the years – but we won’t stop here. We’re nearing the 1 million mark and have become the largest consumer electric car charging platform in Europe – and we’re geared up to rapidly accelerate this worldwide.’

Octopus Electroverse is also available for businesses with fleets of EVs. This has paid-for added features, an online platform and customisable reporting functions to drastically simplify businesses’ electric fleet operations.
