Air pollution may increase risk of cardiovascular disease
Exposure to particulate matter may have a detrimental impact on cardiovascular health by activating the production of inflammatory cells in the bone marrow, according to researchers at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH).
People living in the most polluted areas are 8% more likely to develop irreversible sight loss, according to a study published in the British Journal of Ophthalmology.
