The 5th annual IQAir World Air Quality Report, which reviews air quality data from 7,323 cities across 131 countries, has found that only Australia, Estonia, Finland, Grenada, Iceland, and New Zealand met the World Health Organisation guideline for PM2.5.
Despite a year-on-year increase in traffic to pre-covid levels and a doubling of air traffic from the previous year, greenhouse gas emissions in the UK fell by 3.4% in 2022, following a 15% reduction in the use of coal.
