Enviro Technology Services supply five air quality monitoring stations to Liverpool

As part of a number of measures to improve air quality around Liverpool City, Enviro Technology (ET) has provided Liverpool City Council with five new air quality stations, complete with ‘reference method’ chemiluminescent Teledyne API T200 nitrogen dioxide analysers. 

The monitoring stations are part of the campaign Let’s Clear the Air Liverpool. The monitoring data is available to the public via the Liverpool Air website and is ratified by Air Quality Data Management. 

Designed to show real-time measurements on a colour-coded map, the website also provides historic data of user-selectable hourly mean values for NO2 / NOx at each of the air quality monitoring stations.

Supplied by Envitech Europe, the website also displays nearby monitoring station ‘Liverpool Speke’ which is operated by the Department for Environment, Farming and Rural Affairs (Defra) as part of the national Automatic Urban-Rural Network (AURN).

Liverpool City Council has been committed to improving the cities air quality for some time and enlisted ET’s help in 2019 when they hired ET’s Smogmobile to patrol the streets to monitor air pollution on Clean Air Day.

As part of the package, a 3-year service and support contract with ET was also agreed.

The five new air quality stations are located at:

o Liverpool East — Liverpool Edge Lane

o Liverpool North — Liverpool Everton Valley

o Liverpool South — Liverpool Speke Road

o Liverpool Centre Roadside — Liverpool Lime Street

o Liverpool Centre Background – Liverpool Clayton Square

Enviro Technology’s account manager for the council, Paul Norman said:  ‘The five, Teledyne T200 NOx analysers are housed in compact road box enclosures making them ideal for busy walkways, being less intrusive than traditional larger enclosures.
