EMMAs reflect sector’s continued growth

The Environmental Monitoring & Measurement Achievement Awards (the EMMAs) are returning bigger than ever,  reflecting the continued growth of AQE Expo and the air quality & emissions sector.

The EMMAs will return to Birmingham in 2026, building on a record-breaking year and further cementing their position as the premier celebration of excellence across the environmental monitoring sector.

Taking place on Wednesday 16 September at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole, the awards will once again form a central part of Air Quality & Emissions Expo (AQE Expo), bringing together industry leaders, innovators, and decision-makers from across air quality, emissions, and environmental monitoring.

Following the success of the 2025 edition – taking place on the first evening of AQE Expo (which saw significant growth in attendance last year), the EMMAs have grown in both scale and scope. The awards now reflect the expanding role of monitoring, data, and analysis in addressing environmental challenges, particularly across air quality and emissions management, where innovation and compliance are more critical than ever.

As AQE Expo continues to establish itself as the UK’s leading event for emissions reduction, air quality control, and industrial monitoring, the EMMAs have evolved in parallel. Recognising the organisations, technologies, and individuals driving measurable impact across the sector. From ambient and indoor air quality monitoring to emissions reduction technologies, gas analysis, and environmental compliance, the awards highlight the full spectrum of innovation within the air quality and emissions sector.

In response to the increasingly interconnected nature of environmental disciplines, the 2026 awards will also introduce a selection of new categories focused on land, soil, and geoenvironmental measurement. While these additions broaden the awards’ scope, the core focus remains on advancing monitoring excellence across air, emissions, and cross-media applications.

A Call for Nominations
Nominations for the 2026 EMMAs are now open, inviting entries from organisations and professionals across environmental monitoring, air quality and emissions management, and related sectors. Nomination entries are completely free.

With increasing pressure on organisations to deliver sustainable, data-driven solutions, the awards provide a valuable platform to gain recognition for innovation, demonstrate real-world impact, and gain recognition among a highly engaged audience of industry leaders, and serve as a well-deserved celebration and evening of recognition for the sector.
