Bradford is one of the largest local authorities in the country. A diverse and vibrant city where community still matters. All set in a district of remarkable natural beauty. Bradford might just surprise you. Come and work in the magnificent Bradford District – UK City of Culture 2025!
We want Bradford to be a great place to be a child. This is reflected in our ambition to become a UNICEF Child-Friendly District, where the child’s voice is at the heart of all we do and all our children and young people can develop, thrive and prosper.
We are currently working on a robust and ambitious improvement plan, and this is where you come in as the Assistant Director, Improvement and Partnerships. Reporting to the Director of Children’s Services, you will lead and drive this plan forward strategically while leading the engagement with the newly created Bradford Children’s and Families Trust along with the management and performance of the £200m contract with the Trust. You will also manage traded services, outdoor learning and all inspections.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic professional with excellent interpersonal skills, energy, drive, a commitment to and a track record of delivering better outcomes for children and young people. We are seeking a system leader who understands the statutory duties of a local authority and can manage the contract with Bradford Children’s and Families Trust.
We have a growing young population and are ambitious for all our children in Bradford, and we are looking for someone who shares this ambition. This is a great opportunity for an aspirant Director of Children Services who wants to make a difference to the children and young people in Bradford and be part of the exciting future that the new operations model with the Trust.
