14-year old Charlotte Smith becomes Clean Air Ambassador

The Westminster Commission for Road Air Quality (WCRAQ) has appointed 14-year old Charlotte Smith as Youth Ambassador. 

The WCRAQ, led by Barry Sheerman, MP for Huddersfieldconsists of working parties to discuss, debate and agree on policy recommendations. These working parties provide quarterly reports for the All-Parliamentary Clean Air Group to help shape Government policies.

The commission supports the All-Party Parliamentary Clean Air Group Vice-Chair Barry Sheerman MP.

Membership consists of MPs and peers who work together to promote measures to tackle poor air quality.

Charlotte has been campaigning to improve children’s health,  she aims to promote the use of electric vehicles (EVs) in a positive manner with the goal to improve air quality. Charlotte and her father drive an EV which they loan.

During her first appointment for WCRAQ, Charlotte will be addressing MPs during a Clean Air Day call to arms on June 17.
