Vok Ride launches cargo bike rental service for London businesses

A new cargo bike rental service launching exclusively in London aims to help businesses move away from vans and reduce the operational challenges of working in the capital’s congested urban centres.

Vok Ride, announced today, offers businesses a fully inclusive rental model designed to remove the financial and operational barriers traditionally associated with adopting cargo bikes.

The service comes as London remains Europe’s most congested city. According to Transport for London, drivers lost an average of 101 hours sitting in traffic in 2024, with congestion costing the capital an estimated £3.85 billion in lost productivity. Cargo bikes have been identified as part of the solution, with TfL estimating they could replace up to 17% of van-kilometres in central London by 2030.

Starting from £79 per week, billed monthly, Vok Ride provides businesses with a choice of two cargo bike sizes: the Vok S, with 400 litres of cargo capacity, and the Vok XL, offering 2,000 litres. Each bike features a pedal-by-wire drivetrain designed to reduce maintenance needs, with the company citing a target of 99% uptime for its fleet.

The service is available to London businesses across sectors including parcel and food delivery, trades, facility management, and other urban logistics operations. Each rental includes the bike, battery with charger, accidental damage and theft insurance, GPS tracking, and quarterly servicing. Optional extras include custom branding and shelving systems.

Vok Ride’s model allows businesses to test cargo bikes in real-world operations without committing to upfront fleet purchases. The bikes use removable batteries that can be charged indoors, eliminating the need for dedicated charging infrastructure.

The service aims to provide a low-risk pathway for businesses considering transitioning away from vans for urban operations. Deliveries are available within two weeks of sign-up.
