The Climate Change Committee’s pathway to decarbonise the UK

The Climate Change Committee,  climate advisors to the Government have published the Seventh Carbon Budget, mapping out how the UK might reduce emissions by 87% (from 1990 levels) by 2040.

There are seven key recommendations in the report:

  • Making electricity cheaper
  • Removing barriers
  • Providing certainty
  • Supporting households to install low-carbon heating
  • Setting out how Government will support businesses
  • Enabling the growth of skilled workforces and supporting workers in the transition
  • Implementing an engagement strategy
