As Doncaster Sheffield Airport prepares for its relaunch, we are seeking to appoint an Environment Officer to join a forward‑thinking Environmental Team. This role will be pivotal in supporting the reopening of the airport and embedding strong environmental governance from day one.
Working as part of an enthusiastic and ambitious team, you will play a key role in shaping the airport’s environmental strategy, ensuring compliance, sustainability, and best practice as Doncaster Sheffield Airport grows into a UK and international gateway. The Environmental Team is fundamental in balancing operational growth with environmental responsibility, community engagement, and continuous improvement.
About the Role
The Environmental Officer will support the Environment Manager in implementing, monitoring, and continually improving environmental management systems across Doncaster Sheffield Airport. The role is key to ensuring compliance with environmental legislation and planning requirements, promoting sustainability, and enhancing environmental performance in line with company and national objectives as the airport reopens and grows.
Working as part of the Environmental Team, the postholder will liaise with a wide range of internal departments and external stakeholders, including operational and aviation partners, to manage environmental risks associated with airport activities. The role requires clear communication, issue identification, and proactive reporting to support safe, efficient, and compliant airport operations, contributing to the sustainable development of the UK’s newest airport.

The successful Candidate:
A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong interest in environmental management and sustainability within a regulated operational environment, with a good understanding of environmental responsibility and compliance. They will be keen to develop their knowledge of UK environmental legislation, environmental management systems, and the environmental impacts associated with airport operations, contributing positively to the airport’s reopening and growth.
They will have effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling them to work collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and external stakeholders. The role requires someone who can gather and manage environmental information accurately, follow established processes, and provide clear, practical support to help teams meet environmental requirements and operate safely and efficiently.
