The Candela P-12 electric hydrofoil ‘Nova’ has returned to Stockholm’s public transport after a winter break, during which data from its first stint has been analysed
According to Region Stockholm, Nova reduces CO₂ emissions by 95% and energy use by 84% per passenger-kilometre compared to diesel ferries. Commute times have nearly halved, ridership is up 30%, and most departures are fully booked.
Stockholm’s ferries are the last remaining part of the city’s public transport network to rely on fossil fuels but possibly, not for much longer.
