Air Monitors relocates following contract wins

Air Monitors has moved to larger premises in Tewkesbury following a ‘succession’ of service contract wins and a period of sales growth.

The air monitoring technology specialist — which will remain headquartered in the Gloucestershire town — has also employed new staff to handle the expanded workload.

Contract wins include a national deal to calibrate and maintain the majority of the UK’s ambient air quality monitoring stations in the Automatic Urban and Network (AURN) on behalf of the government (see airqualitynews.com story).

Jim Mills, managing director of Air Monitors, said: “We are still close to Tewkesbury, but the new facility is 60% larger, which has enabled us to expand.”

Products

Air Monitors has also experienced a rise in sales of its air monitoring products, such as the AQMesh and the FIDAS 200, the company says.

The FIDAS 200 measures particulate matter by monitoring multiple fractions simultaneously with lower power and maintnenace power, according to the firm. This provides opportunities to gather more accurate data at a lower cost.

Mr Mills added: “We are also delighted with the volume of orders for the low cost air quality monitor AQMesh. Having spent over three years refining and proving the technology in multiple trials, both in the UK and abroad, there is now a high degree of confidence in AQMesh.

“This is causing a minor revolution in the air quality community — customers are finally able to quickly and simply collect accurate, almost real-time air quality data from any location; revealing vital information on the air pollution that is responsible for thousands of premature deaths.”

Website

The business has also invested heavily in a new website, which automatically displays technologies of ‘most relevance’ to the visitor. Users of the site can also find the products of interest much faster with a new filter tool.
