ENGIE offering free EV charging to key workers
ENGIE is offering free electricity both to existing GeniePoint Network drivers as well as new registrations, to key workers operating in critical roles during the coronavirus pandemic.
All public chargers on the GeniePoint Network will be included in this provision and EV drivers should visit www.geniepoint.co.uk to see the nationwide map of chargers, and to sign up to the GeniePoint Network if not already registered.
The offer will also extend to drivers registered on the Revive charging network in the South West of England, and the Dragon Charging Network in Wales.
ENGIE says if you are a key worker and would like to register your account for free charging during this period, please email: geniepointsupport@engie.com giving the following details of your GeniePoint Network account:
- Registered name:
- Registered email address:
- Key worker role:
Once they have received the email, it may take up to 48 hours for the changes to apply.

- Education & Childcare
- Key public services
- Local & national government
- Food & other necessary goods distribution
- Public safety & national security
- Transport
- Utilities, communication & financial services
Several companies within the sector have rallied behind key workers and offered services free-of-charge.
MG Motor UK has supplied 100 electric MG ZS cars to NHS agencies across the UK during the coronavirus pandemic and BP Chargemaster is providing support to electric taxis who are transporting frontline NHS staff to work.
