Air Quality News announces details of the National Air Quality Conference at Lords Cricket Ground on the 8th November 2023

Following on from the Northern Air Quality conference in Manchester in March and the first South West & Wales conference in Bristol in June, we are delighted to announce the launch of our fourth air quality conference in London this November.

We have already secured a number of key speakers to present to delegates, upon the challenges and possible solutions to the issues surrounding clean air provision.

The aim of these events is to bring together delegates from local authorities and the wider public sector along with health experts, scientists, academics and those in the air quality monitoring sector for a full day of discussion on the air pollution crisis.

We will also host an exhibition with some of the foremost companies in air quality management attending and they will be available to discuss some of the possible solutions to the challenges of clean air provision.

We have received excellent feedback from our conferences throughout 2023; Here is a small selection of the testimonials we have received:

‘Great speakers, very knowledgeable and passionate. It was an extremely good day, thank you.’  Becky Wooten from Teignbridge District Council

‘There was a good balance of topics and content and really good quality speakers.’  Ross Jarvis, Environmental Protection Officer at Reading Borough Council

The first speakers announced for this year’s National Conference, include:

Zack Polanski is the Deputy Leader of the Green Party of England and Wales. He is also elected to the London Assembly where he chaired the environment committee for the last two years. He convened a cross party report into air pollution making recommendations to the Mayor – including passing a motion across the Assembly in support of Ella’s Law.

Quentin Willson is one of the UK’s best-known motoring commentators. He presented Top Gear for over a decade, wrote and presented BBC2’s The Car’s The Star, started Channel 5’s Fifth Gear, created the Britain’s Worst Driver format and The Classic Car Show. He is now behind the FairCharge campaign, demanding a change in the VAT rate on public EV charge points and calling for measures to be put in place to allow lower-income drivers access to electric vehicles.

Cllr Clyde Loakes , Waltham Forest’s Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Climate and Air Quality. Cllr Clyde leads on all environmental, climate and transport policies, as well as highways and parking management. He provided the political leadership from the initial bidding process through to the implementation and delivery of the multi award winning and ground-breaking Mini-Holland/Enjoy Waltham Forest programme. The scheme has delivered significant investment and radical expansion and improvements to the borough’s active travel infrastructure, boosting the safety, priority and numbers of residents walking and cycling.

Further speakers will be announced shortly.

We hope to meet you at the conference on the 8th November at Lords Cricket Ground.

It’s worth noting that although the Air Quality News conferences do sell out – we are offering a limited number of Early Bird tickets for the event and they are available to book online here
