Demand for stack emissions testing is predicted to grow with the arrival of new domestic and international legislation, which the company hopes will create ‘significant opportunities’.

The partnership currently offers services including landfill gas sampling, continuous emissions monitoring, annual surveillance testing, dispersion pattern modelling, and lab testing of physical and chemical samples.

Mike Pooley, European managing director for Exova, said: “We are constantly striving to increase our provision of technically demanding services.  Catalyst is a recognised leader in its field and this move will allow us to develop further the specialist stack testing capabilities we provide in Europe, Americas and Middle East.

“This is the latest in a number of acquisitions we have made in recent months and further underlines our commitment to both grow our global footprint and to extend our range of capabilities and the number of customers we can support.”

Catalyst Environmental has grown from a single team in Stockport to 17 specialist team working from six locations including Swindon, Rotherham and Dublin.

The company is fully accredited by the Environment Agency’s Monitoring Certification Scheme for emissions to air, land and water, as well as the UK’s Accreditation Service.

Exova is an international company with a UK office based in Edinburgh.
