Tougher controls agreed for emissions from generators
Restrictions on air pollution from combustion plants and generators were passed by parliament this week, in a move that it is hoped will combat poor air quality.
Chancellor Philip Hammond is under pressure to use Wednesday’s Budget statement to put in place ‘bold fiscal policies’ to combat air pollution, with some groups calling for increased taxation on diesel cars and fuel.
