Air Quality News teams up with Global Action Plan for Clean Air Day

Air Quality News to collaborate with Global Action Plan for this year’s Clean Air Day LIVE.

On October 8 Clean Air Day LIVE will involve a full day of virtual events with a focus on clean air activities.

Clean Air Day usually comprises of events and gatherings all around the country, last year saw more than 600 events taking place, attracting almost half a million people.

This year, in order to ensure that the events are Covid secure, they will take place virtually.

The charity is still encouraging hundreds of schools, businesses, local authorities, health organisations, universities, charities and community groups to play their part in cleaning up our air, Global Action Plan aims to make this the cleanest Clean Air Day yet.

Clean Air Day LIVE will be free to view on the Air Quality News and Clean Air Day website, with scheduled programming for schools, campaigners, local and national authorities, health professionals, business and the general public.

The day will begin with a clean air assembly for schools, followed by a focus on campaigning including success stories, imagery and ideas.

After lunch, a session will look at the inequality of air pollution, mobility, health and workplace environments. The day will then be concluded by celebrating everything achieved on the day, with some special guest speakers.

Larissa Lockwood, director of Clean Air at Global Action Plan, says: ‘Clean Air Day brings together communities, businesses, schools, universities and the health sector to improve understanding and awareness of air pollution and the everyday actions we can all take to tackle it.

‘Clean Air Day LIVE will offer a focal point and that sense of togetherness. Social distancing should not be a barrier to action for clean air, so we want to offer organisations and the public more virtual options to get involved with the campaign safely.’
