Autonomous delivery pods and e-scooters among EU mobility prize winners

The ten winners of the second European Startup Prize for Mobility were announced last night (April 11) in Brussels.

The programme, which is supported by both the European Parliament and the European Commission, aims to promote European startups that use technology and innovation to develop cleaner, safer and more inclusive mobility in Europe and around the world.

Nine startups were selected from among 571 candidates, and for the first time, a European public vote was used to select the tenth winner. This title has been awarded to K-Ryole, a French provider of the first intelligent electric bike trailer.

Other winners include French-based CityScoot, who offer ‘free-floating’ electric scooters to cities, and Swedish company Einride, who provide electric autonomous ‘pods’ that can deliver goods.

The ten startups won a Silver Prize and will take part in a European tour of five major technology hubs to meet investors and future clients.

Five ‘super winners’ have also won a mentoring programme with Boston Consulting Group and law firms Grimaldi Studio Legale and Parallel Avocats on top of the European tour.
