First look: Inside Air Quality News’ health-focused November 2022 magazine

It’s an incredibly busy week for everyone here at Air Quality News. For one thing, we’re hosting our annual National Air Quality Conference, and launching the November issue of our magazine in the process. All of which is before we mention the small matter of COP27.

Taking a wider view of this issue, we first take a look at the largely under-reported issue of forest health, and the devastation caused by monoculture reforestation projects in some of the most important woodland in the world in terms of reducing toxicity in the atmosphere and mitigating symptoms of the climate crisis. From there, we explore rising levels of climate anxiety worldwide.

Elsewhere, we explore the latest medical research linking air pollution, Alzheimer’s and dementia, and the impact of vaping on lungs and air quality, our Big Interview considers whether doctors should align themselves with direct action, protests and activism, and a lawyer from India’s Supreme Court considers the significance of legal powers forcing the hand of government regulators  to protect public health.
