Staff at Northumberland County Council’s headquarters are now leaving their cars in one of the most environmentally efficient car parks in the UK, thanks to a contribution from the England European Regional Development Fund, which has been matched by the council. An investment they plan to recoup through energy savings.
The European Commission has announced the final approval of the revised Energy Efficiency Directive, the FuelEU Maritime Regulations and the Alternative Fuel Infrastructure Regulations, as part of the ‘Fit for 55′ package of legislation aimed at reducing EU greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030.
