West Yorkshire targets 2020 taxi emissions reduction
An increase in the take-up of hybrid and pure electric vehicles by taxi and private-hire vehicle drivers by 2020 is expected to aid improvements in air quality across West Yorkshire, a meeting of the region’s Transport Committee heard last week.
The head of Ford’s electric van programme has outlined the company’s strategy for promoting electric vehicles to commercial users, and said there is a ‘strong’ desire to reduce vehicle emissions within the business sector.
